October 21st is World Apple Day! It is a day in which we not only celebrate apples, but we celebrate hard cider too. The day itself was established 25 years ago, and falls around the time most cideries are in full swing, making it a great time to celebrate the apple.
Owner and Cidermaker, Grant Howes, is a big fan of Gabe Cook, also known as The Ciderologist. Gabe marks the day on his calendar for 3 reasons. He explains, "firstly it is one day before my birthday; secondly it marks the date when Marty McFly and Doc Brown are due to appear (from Back to the Future II); but most importantly it marks World Apple Day." You can read more about Gabe's take on World Apple Day here.
At The County Cider Company, we are constantly celebrating our incredible orchards and the apples they produce. Growing over 15 varieties of apples between the two orchards, our ciders are made with 100% pure apple juice. So on behalf of the entire team, happy World Apple Day!
